Senior Payroll Specialist | iChris Expert | Parramatta | Contract Opportunity
 
The Company

Due to increased workload and upcoming project priorities within the payroll function, they are seeking an additional Payroll Specialist to join the team immediately on a temporary contract through until the end of August.
Based in Parramatta, this role will suit a hands-on payroll professional who enjoys both operational payroll processing and getting into the detail of payroll systems and configuration.
 
The Role
Working closely with the Payroll and P&C team, you will provide critical support across payroll operations while also assisting with iChris system improvements and configuration. This is a highly specialised role requiring strong technical iChris capability and the ability to confidently navigate payroll system functionality and back-end processes.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing end-to-end fortnightly payroll within iChris
• Supporting payroll operations during a busy coverage period
• Processing GTR / bulk EOFY pay increases within the system
• Supporting iChris system improvements and best practice initiatives
• Assisting with iChris rule configuration and back-end architecture
• Supporting award interpretation, payroll automations and date-driven updates
• Assisting with universal pay updates and payroll system maintenance
• Providing troubleshooting and support across payroll-related system issues
• Collaborating with Payroll, HR and Finance stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll delivery and compliance

 
The Candidate
This role requires someone who can step in quickly and confidently operate within a complex payroll environment. You will be a strong technical payroll professional with advanced iChris capability and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
You will bring:

• Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience
• Advanced working knowledge of iChris (essential)
• Experience processing payroll within complex or award-based environments
• Strong understanding of payroll systems, configuration and back-end functionality
• Experience with payroll rule configuration, automations and pay updates highly regarded
• Exposure to GTR / EOFY pay increases and payroll compliance processes
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
• Ability to commence immediately and commit through until end of August
