Mechanical Maintainer
Through Rio Tinto’s partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintainer for the Mine Water Maintenance team in Pannawonica.
We’re looking for a Mechanical Maintainer who demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, accountability, teamwork and is motivated by a hands-on, challenging role.
Reporting to the MWM Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintain site assets within the maintenance management framework. Operating on an 8 days on 6 days off roster (days only) you will be responsible for applying work management processes and completing allocated maintenance work to ensure asset reliability and operational efficiency.

Through Rio Tinto’s partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintainer for the Mine Water Maintenance team in Pannawonica.
We’re looking for a Mechanical Maintainer who demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, accountability, teamwork and is motivated by a hands-on, challenging role.
Reporting to the MWM Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintain site assets within the maintenance management framework. Operating on an 8 days on 6 days off roster (days only) you will be responsible for applying work management processes and completing allocated maintenance work to ensure asset reliability and operational efficiency.
Reporting to the Supervisor the role will include:
- Perform maintenance activites on mechanical assets to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation.
- Identify defects and provide timely feedback on asset performance and condition through the asset management system, including raising notifications and completing work orders.
- Support defect elimination processes and contribute to work management analysis and asset tactics reviews.
- Execute work in line with approved job instructions and standards.
- Complete post-maintenance equipment commissioning and housekeeping activites.
- Work safely within Rio Tinto procedures
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance of plant and equipment in the mining sector.
- Cat and Cummins engine, and/or Truflo and Pioneer pump experience advantageous.
- Strong capability in defect identification and asset performance feedback.
- Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to contribute to maintenance analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- High attention to detail, particularly during post-maintenance activities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to work the rostered shifts.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Dedication to everyone's safety and risk management.
- Current C Class manual driver's licence.
- Mechanical Trade Qualification.
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and other testing.
- Highly desirable: Auto electrical experience, SAP / work management and planning experience.
