HSEQ Officer

We're currently looking for an experienced HSEQ Officer to join a well-established and growing organisation operating across a diverse range of industries including construction, infrastructure, mining, utilities and property development.

This role will see you supporting the business across health, safety, quality and environmental functions, working closely with operational leaders and employees to maintain compliance, strengthen systems and continue driving a positive HSEQ culture.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, hands-on and confident building relationships across all levels of an organisation. This position would suit an HSQE professional who enjoys a balance of operational support, compliance, auditing and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day HSQE support across the business
• Supporting the maintenance and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS)
• Assisting with ISO-certified systems and certification audits
• Monitoring compliance with WHS, environmental and quality legislation and client requirements
• Conducting workplace inspections, audits and site engagements
• Supporting risk assessments, risk registers and psychosocial hazard management
• Managing incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Supporting Respect@Work and workplace behaviour initiatives
• Developing, reviewing and maintaining HSQE policies, procedures and management plans
• Monitoring HSQE performance and preparing reports and performance metrics
• Supporting toolbox talks, HSQE meetings and safety communications
• Assisting with project onboarding, client prequalification and contractor compliance
• Providing practical HSQE advice to operational leaders and employees
• Keeping up to date with legislative changes and industry developments

About You

• Previous experience as an HSQE Officer, HSQE Advisor, Safety Advisor or similar
• Relevant qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
• Experience supporting Integrated Management Systems and ISO certifications
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations
• Experience with psychosocial hazard management and workplace behaviour initiatives
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong Microsoft 365 and SharePoint skills
• Construction White Card
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Full Australian working rights

Experience within construction, surveying, engineering, infrastructure, mining or other multi-site environments will be highly regarded.
