If you’re an experienced People & Culture professional who values meaningful relationships, thoughtful leadership, and flexibility that works in real life, this could be your next chapter.
Slomoi Immerman Partners is a boutique accounting firm based in the Melbourne CBD, currently 60 people and growing. Despite our growth, we’ve held onto what matters most: a genuine care for our people, a strong sense of togetherness across the firm, and a commitment to delivering work we’re proud of, for each other and our clients.
We’re now looking for a People & Culture Manager to play a central role in shaping how our people experience work as we continue to grow. This is a part-time role (around 30 hours per week) with flexibility and trust built in.
Why you’ll love this role
This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the business and its people. You’ll have the space to build real relationships, the autonomy to run the people function end to end, and the opportunity to influence culture in a way that’s practical, human, and sustainable.
You’ll work closely with engaged Directors and leaders who value professional, well-considered advice and who care deeply about our people. Your work will be visible, valued, and genuinely impactful.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll manage the full spectrum of People & Culture activities, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
Strategy, culture and growth
Shape and deliver people and culture initiatives that support the firm’s growth while staying true to who we are
Build a compelling employee experience that attracts great people and supports a career journey that means we are building a great sustainable team for the long term
Bring our values to life through everyday people practices, leadership behaviours and decision-making
Employee relations and wellbeing
Provide practical, calm and thoughtful support across employee relations matters
Be an approachable and trusted presence for our team
Develop wellbeing initiatives that help people do their best work sustainably
Manage psychosocial risk obligations in line with Australian requirements
Recruitment and onboarding
Manage end-to-end recruitment as the firm continues to grow
Lead graduate and vacationer recruitment programs
Performance, development and reward
Run performance and remuneration review processes end to end
Coach leaders to have effective, consistent and professional performance conversations
Coordinate learning and development initiatives supporting graduates through to leaders in skill development
HR operations and compliance
Oversee employment contracts and documentation via Worknice
Review and refresh HR policies so they remain practical, compliant and fit for a growing firm
Provide people insights and metrics to help leaders make informed decisions and spot emerging risks
About you
You’re someone who balances warmth with professionalism. You’re comfortable working independently, trusted for your judgement, and known for building strong relationships across all levels.
You’ll bring:
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline
Solid HR management experience, ideally within professional services
Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and HR best practice
The ability to move easily between strategy and day-to-day delivery
Excellent communication skills, discretion, and a calm, approachable style
The practical bits
Part-time: Approx. 30 hours per week
Flexibility: Open to how those hours are structured
Location: Melbourne CBD office, with hybrid work available
Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
If you’re looking for a role where you can do high-quality work, build genuine relationships, and shape a positive people experience — all with flexibility — we’d love to hear from you.
