Senior Electrical Designer Mining & Resources Projects | 6-Month Contract - View to Extend | Western Australia

About the Role:
Our client is a well-established engineering services provider supporting the mining and mineral processing sector across Western Australia and international markets. Due to ongoing project demand, they are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to join their team on a contract basis.
This role will see you supporting and leading electrical design activities across a range of brownfield and greenfield projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design activities across mining and mineral processing projects
• Produce and review detailed designs using MicroStation or AutoCAD
• Develop electrical documentation including:
  • Single line diagrams
  • Schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Termination diagrams and general arrangements
• Support design integration across electrical, mechanical and process disciplines
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
• Resolve design issues and support project delivery timelines
• Prepare documentation for client and regulatory submissions
• Contribute to scope development, budgeting and project planning
• Undertake occasional site travel as required

Requirements:

• 8+ years’ experience in electrical design within mining, resources or heavy industry
• Strong proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD
• Proven experience delivering electrical designs for large-scale projects
• Solid understanding of power distribution, control systems and instrumentation
• Sound knowledge of relevant Australian standards and industry practices
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification (Degree or Diploma)
• Full working rights in Australia

Desirable:

• Experience working on international projects
• Exposure to remote or site-based environments
• Knowledge of hazardous area design
• Experience across both MicroStation and AutoCAD platforms
• Familiarity with major WA mining client standards and procedures
