Saw Doctor/Technician

The Opportunity:

Our client is Australia's No. 1 supplier of structural and treated timber, nationally supplying quality timber products across the country, and is seeking an experienced Saw Doctor/Technician to maintain, repair, and replace saw blades and cutting equipment to join our Team in beautiful Kuitpo at outstanding rates

• Monday to Friday - 8hr shifts
• Wages starting from $60.00/hour with penalty rates up to $108/hr plus Superannuation
• Genuine Temp to Permanent Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, service, set up, adjust and repair saw blades and cutting equipment to meet quality standards and operational requirements
• Inspections of saws, knives, and related tooling for wear, damage or faults
• Sharpen, tension, level and align circular and band saws
• Supervision, practical exposure and guidance, ensuring maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with WHS, isolation/LOTP and site procedures

Requirements to fulfill the role:

• Trade Qualifications of Cert III in Saw Technology or equivalent highly regarded, or extensive experience in a sawmill or timber processing environment
• Strong experience with sharpening, tensioning, levelling and maintaining circular and band saws
• Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose faults and complete minor repairs and adjustments accurately and proficiently
• Reliable, safety-focused and able to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Must be physically fit and healthy and able to pass Random Drug and Alcohol testing
• Full, unlimited working rights in Australia
