About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and motivated Community Support Workers to join the Community Living Support Program (CLS).

In this rewarding role, you will provide person-centred, recovery-oriented support to people living with mental health conditions, working across home and community settings.

You will play a vital role in helping people build independence, develop life skills, and stay connected to their community.

Responsibilities

Support Delivery
  • Deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented support in line with the CLS model
  • Support customers with daily living skills, emotional wellbeing, and social connection
  • Assist with appointments, activities, and access to community services
  • Maintain an active caseload and meet support delivery targets
Customer Focused Practice
  • Tailor support to individual goals and recovery journeys
  • Apply trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
  • Build trust while maintaining professional boundaries
Collaboration &  Engagement
  • Work closely with clinical teams, families, and community organisations
  • Contribute to team meetings, supervision, and service improvement initiatives
  • Support customer feedback and co-design opportunities
  • Engage in reflective practice and regular supervision to support safe and effective work.
Compliance & Safety
  • Follow all policies, WHS, and risk management procedures
  • Report incidents and maintain accurate documentation
About You

You Will Bring
  • Proven ability to support people with daily living skills, emotional regulation, and community participation.
  • Ability to build strong, respectful relationships 
  • Confidence to work independently in community settings while managing an active caseload.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet performance targets.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, supervision, and reflective practice.
  • Ability to navigate complex customer needs and behaviours using safe, person-centred approaches.
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic environments.
Essential Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health or Peer Work or relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 12 months experience in a CLS program or similar program
  • Strong understanding of recovery-oriented, person-centred practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural competency
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and reporting systems
Eligibility
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency with full work rights is required.
  • NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check (within 3 months)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module
  • Physical capability to meet the requirements of the role, including lifting up to 10kg.
