An excellent opportunity has become available for a qualified Anaesthetic Technician (AT) or Registered Nurse Anaesthetic Assistant (RNAA) to join a modern private surgical hospital in Timaru.
This well-established hospital delivers approximately 3,000 procedures annually across a range of specialties including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology, ENT and Ophthalmology. About the Role:
Working across three operating theatres, you will play a key role in supporting anaesthetists and ensuring the safe delivery of anaesthetic care throughout the patient journey.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting anaesthetists in the preparation and delivery of anaesthetic care
- Preparing, checking and maintaining anaesthetic equipment to required standards
- Supporting patient safety and clinical excellence throughout the perioperative process
- Collaborating closely with theatre staff to provide high-quality patient care
- Contributing to a positive and professional team environment
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current New Zealand registration as an Anaesthetic Technician or RNAA
- Experience working within a perioperative or operating theatre environment
- Strong knowledge of anaesthetic assistance and best practice standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to delivering outstanding patient care
- Current New Zealand working rights
- Permanent position (64–80 hours per fortnight)
- Competitive salary of up to $54.56 per hour
- Monday to Friday roster – no weekend operating lists
