Senior GCP Engineer

Join a leading organisation committed to innovation and digital transformation. The client is seeking a highly skilled Senior GCP Engineer with a focus on cloud platform development and engineering excellence on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

As the selected candidate, you will:

• Lead the design, development, and configuration of Cloud Platforms with a focus on GCP, ensuring best practices in software engineering and automation.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and customer experience teams to deliver secure, scalable, and impactful cloud solutions.
• Advance cloud platform maturity by introducing modern software development methodologies and self-service reusable products.
• Drive innovation in automation, continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines, and cloud-native practices.
• Influence the cloud platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and industry standards.
• Support a culture of safety, wellbeing, and customer-centric service, fostering professional growth within the team.

To be successful in this role you should have:

• Significant experience (5-7+ years) in developing and managing cloud platform solutions, with a strong focus on GCP.
• Proven expertise in GCP services, security, compliance engineering concepts, and supporting secure CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, with Golang being highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure components such as VPCs, networks, and security.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, implement cloud-native automation, and drive cultural change towards a software engineering mindset.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related disciplines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to collaboration and influence.
