Duties & Role:
Under the direction of the Service Area Owner (SAO) the contractor shall:
- Operate and support the application service on a day-to-day basis, including administration, troubleshooting, incident resolution and user support.
- Maintain and deploy the application, including updates, patches, installations, configuration changes and controlled uninstallation when required.
- Manage data and reporting, including data loading and transfers, data validation, and maintenance and enhancements of PowerBI dashboards.
- Support the technical environment and its components including RHEL, NGINX, JAVA, MSQL connectivity.
- Manage the user community. Activities may include: user provisioning, user support, guidance and troubleshooting, particularly during the initialization and user on-boarding period.
- Maintain operational documentation and ensure the application configuration, procedures and technical knowledge remain current.
- Provide service reporting and governance, including KPI/SLA reporting, risk and issue management and participation in regular service reviews.
- Execute coordination and information gathering activities within NCSC, NCIA, and with stakeholders, in support of the above activities.
- Establish and maintain operating procedures, technical documentation and identify opportunities for improvement and service efficiency.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
- A minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 3 years post-related experience;
- Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCIA, that is, at least 5 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to those in this Statement of Work.
- At least 3 years practical experience in cyber security or related field, such as developing and maintaining cyber security services, service initialization and maintenance in the area of Cyber security, or complex and demanding technical environments;
- Experience providing application administration and production support and transition into steady-state service operations;
- Strong experience working with Linux and Enterprise Linux environments and hands-on skills managing production servers, services, processes, networking, storage, permissions and system logs.
- Experience with PowerBI, including development and maintenance of dashboards and reports;
- Experience with DB management, e.g. MS SQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with data loading, migration and data transfer processes and automation;
- Experience with application deployment, updates, patching and release management;
- Experience working with IT service management processes, SLAs, incident management and change management;
- Experience identifying and implementing service improvements and automation.
- Strong application troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across application, middleware, operating system and database layers.
- Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting technical expertise, e.g. Relevant RHEL 9.x Administration experience.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across technical solutions and teams.
- Very good communication and analytical skills.
- Language proficiency in English: meet or exceed the NATO STANAG 6001 Level 3 "Professional Proficiency".
- Relevant certifications in Linux Administration.
- RHEL 9.x Certified Admin (desirable).
