Iberdrola is now recruiting for an experienced construction HSE Advisor for a 12 – 18-month contract, responsible for overseeing the construction on a new BESS project outside of Adelaide.

About the Role
Reporting to the Senior HSE Manager Project Delivery, this role will be the on-site health, safety and environmental representative, ensuring Iberdrola’s obligations, project governance requirements and environmental commitments are upheld throughout project delivery.
Some specific responsibilities include:
· Provide client-side HSE leadership across all construction and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with Iberdrola Australia’s HSE policies, WHS legislation, and environmental approvals.
· Deliver independent assurance of the Principal Contractor’s WHS systems, including verification of critical controls, safe work practices, and competency of personnel.
· Monitor and support management of multi-party interfaces, including OEMs, HV contractors, environmental consultants, landowners, and grid connection partners.
· Provide assurance of contractor processes for incident response, investigation, and reporting, ensuring timely communication with Iberdrola Australia’s leadership and regulatory bodies.
· Assurance of contractor processes for compliance with environmental and cultural heritage requirements, ensuring protection of land, biodiversity, and community interests.
· Champion Iberdrola’s safety culture, promoting proactive risk management, open communication, and continuous improvement across all site teams.
· Provide daily HSE insights to the Project Manager and broader delivery team, ensuring emerging risks, trends, and opportunities are clearly understood.
· Ensure contractor alignment with Iberdrola’s ESG commitments, sustainability expectations, and long-term operational safety requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have relevant HSE qualifications and strong site and project-based experience on large infrastructure construction projects, ideally in renewables or similar.
Your excellent interpersonal skills allow you to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, resulting in exceptional performance.
You will be able to fully commit to a 12 – 18-month contract working Monday – Friday in both office and site environments in Adelaide.
This is an Adelaide based role. No relocation, FIFO, accommodation or travel allowances apply.
