  • You will be joining AccruePartners’ Project Solutions practice, partnering with a large, nationally recognized equipment rental and industrial services organization with a broad North American footprint.
  • The organization is investing in the systems, processes, and controls needed to support continued commercial growth and operational scale. This engagement sits at the intersection of Sales, Finance, HR, and Technology and will play a central role in modernizing the company’s incentive compensation management capabilities.
  • The consultant will serve as the functional lead for an Oracle Incentive Compensation Management implementation, helping translate complex commission-plan requirements into a scalable platform, reliable operating processes, and a sustainable governance model.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

  • The organization is moving toward a modernized incentive compensation platform and operating model, with Oracle ICM at the center of the future-state strategy. This is not simply a technical implementation. The work requires a functional leader who can connect sales compensation design, commission-calculation logic, data and integration requirements, finance controls, technical delivery, and operational readiness.
  • This consultant will help lead the work from requirements definition and future-state design through configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization. They will partner with Sales, Finance, HR, IT, and implementation vendors to define business rules, establish data and reporting requirements, coordinate technical dependencies, validate calculations, and resolve design questions and risks as they emerge.
  • The role will also help establish the governance, controls, documentation, operating procedures, and accountability needed to support accurate and timely commission payouts over the long term. Success directly influences seller confidence, stakeholder trust, commission-process scalability, audit readiness, platform adoption, and the organization’s ability to refine incentive programs as the business evolves.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

  • 7+ years of experience in incentive compensation, sales operations, commission administration, sales compensation, or related finance and commercial operations functions.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle ICM, Varicent, Xactly, or a comparable incentive compensation management platform.
  • Proven experience leading or playing a central functional role in an ICM implementation, major enhancement, platform migration, or commission transformation initiative.
  • Ability to translate compensation-plan design and business requirements into system configuration, calculation logic, workflows, reporting, controls, and operating procedures.
  • Experience managing the full implementation lifecycle, including requirements, future-state design, data readiness, integrations, testing, defect resolution, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end commission operations, including calculation accuracy, payout cycles, exception handling, plan changes, audit controls, documentation, and financial compliance.
  • Experience partnering across Sales, Finance, HR, IT, and external vendors to manage stakeholder alignment, workstream dependencies, decisions, risks, and implementation timelines.
  • Ability to build and maintain project structure, including workplans, milestones, governance cadence, RAID logs, decision tracking, testing plans, readiness criteria, and executive-level status reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel and exposure to SQL, BI tools, reporting platforms, or commission-data analysis.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, reporting enhancements, and increased transparency across the commission lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience guiding technical and business resources, setting priorities, managing workload, and creating accountability across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience in a large, complex, multi-location, high-growth, or operationally distributed environment is strongly preferred.
