Yard Associate

Job Title: Yard Associate
Location: Gates, NY
Pay: $20.00/Hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift | Monday – Friday

Job Overview: Nesco Resource is hiring a Warehouse Associate / Forklift Operator to support warehouse and yard operations in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is responsible for accurately pulling and preparing customer orders, loading and unloading trucks, maintaining organized inventory, and safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and committed to providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pull and prepare accurate customer orders for shipment
• Safely load and unload trucks using a sit-down forklift
• Receive inbound materials and stock inventory appropriately
• Complete work orders and receiving documentation accurately
• Package and prepare materials for outgoing shipments
• Rotate yard stock and organize materials within the warehouse and yard
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Assist with general warehouse and yard operations as needed
• Work collaboratively with team members to support branch success
• Provide excellent customer service during daily operations

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year warehouse or yard experience preferred
• Sit-down forklift experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with building materials is a plus
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safety procedures

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 60 lbs. occasionally
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors as needed

Visual & Hearing Requirements:

• Ability to read shipping paperwork, labels, and inventory documents
• Ability to recognize forklift alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions

Working Conditions:

• Warehouse and outdoor yard environment
• Exposure to changing weather conditions when working outside
• Frequent forklift and material handling activity
• Fast-paced environment with daily shipping and receiving deadlines
