Portfolio Finance Manager – Private Equity

Apply directEMEA Recruitment is working with an established international investment business to recruit a Portfolio Finance Manager for its Amsterdam team.
This is a broad finance role with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and investment professionals. The successful candidate will use financial and operational information to provide greater visibility of business performance, identify trends and support commercial and investment-related decision-making.
Alongside the analytical element of the position, you will have the opportunity to improve how financial information is collected, analysed and presented, with a strong focus on efficiency, automation and the effective use of data.
Key responsibilities of the Portfolio Finance Manager:
- Analyse the financial performance of investments and identify key trends, risks and performance drivers
- Provide clear financial insight to support senior stakeholders and investment-related decisions
- Prepare and develop regular performance and management reporting
- Review forecasts, budgets and cash flow information across the portfolio
- Support financial analysis relating to valuations and investment performance
- Develop reporting tools and dashboards to improve the quality and accessibility of financial information
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve existing finance and reporting processes
- Build strong relationships with senior finance contacts across the portfolio
- Support investor-related financial reporting and performance analysis
- Contribute to wider Finance projects and reporting requirements
Candidate requirements:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
- Around 10+ years’ relevant finance experience, ideally gained within Business Control, FP&A, Financial Analysis, Portfolio Finance or a comparable position
- Exposure to Private Equity, Investment Management or another investment-led environment would be advantageous
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand the commercial story behind financial results
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial modelling
- Advanced Excel skills and an interest in reporting, data and automation
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools would be beneficial
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with senior finance and investment professionals
- A proactive and hands-on approach with the curiosity to challenge information and identify opportunities for improvement
