As a Business Controller (m/f/d), you will play a central role in the German Business Controlling team. Acting as a strong business partner to one of our business units, you will advise stakeholders and senior management on relevant KPIs and reporting. Beyond day-to-day activities, you will also oversee digitalization processes, process optimization, and ensure the company is aligned with the energy transition. You will be responsible for the monthly close as well as all relevant management and stakeholder reporting for one of our business areas.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a strategic business partner for the trading business, delivering valuable financial analyses and insights for operational and strategic decision-making.

• Serve as the main point of contact for cross-functional teams, ensuring financial goals align with business strategies.

• Provide stakeholders with relevant financial KPIs and analyses to support sound decision-making.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Responsible for the monthly financial close, working closely with accounting to ensure correct integration of financial data into IFRS results.

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the Business Control Manager, the German front office, and the central performance reporting team.

• Analyze and monitor the profit and loss statement and market trends, providing insights for senior management and stakeholders.

Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management

• Develop financial plans, forecasts, and strategic business reports to support decision-making in the German business unit.

• Participate in the annual planning process, collaborating with various business areas to align financial goals.

• Conduct regular performance reviews to ensure structured assessment and continuous improvement of financial performance.

Process Optimization & Digitalization

• Lead and participate in finance projects to increase efficiency and enable data-driven decision-making.

• Support and drive performance optimization initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement in reporting and controlling processes.

• Contribute to transformation initiatives, particularly in the field of the energy transition and renewable energy.

Your Profile

• Degree in economics/business administration, ideally with a focus on controlling/finance.

• 3–5 years of professional experience in controlling/finance within a commodities or trading company, ideally with IFRS accounting knowledge.

• Initial experience in business partnering and stakeholder management.

• Strong IT affinity.

• Independent, self-driven work style, able to take responsibility in a dynamic environment.

• Proficient in MS Office (especially advanced Excel skills) and fluent in English.

• A committed team player with a structured, precise working style, hands-on attitude, and exceptional numerical skills.
