Civil Engineer (Tailings Dam Project) | Darwin, NT | FIFO

CELOTTI WORKFORCE is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join a major mining project in the Northern Territory, delivering critical Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) construction and upgrade works.

This role will suit a hands-on Civil Project Engineer with strong experience in Tailings Storage Facility (TSF), tailings dam and mining civil project delivery, ideally within operational mining environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the delivery of Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) construction, upgrades and sustaining capital works.
• Manage bulk earthworks, embankment construction and water management infrastructure.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, procurement and resource requirements.
• Oversee contractors, ensuring works are completed safely, on time and to specification.
• Monitor project costs, forecasting and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare scopes of work, technical documentation, tender packages and contractor evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, environmental requirements and mining regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture through risk assessments, pre-starts and HSEC compliance.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) or tailings dam projects within the mining sector.
• Proven experience managing bulk earthworks, embankment construction, water management infrastructure, and associated civil works.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, cost control, contractor management, and procurement.
• Experience working on brownfield and/or greenfield mining projects.
• Sound understanding of QA/QC processes, risk management, and mining HSE standards.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Current Driver's Licence and the ability to work a FIFO 15:13 roster.

Highly Regarded:

• Project Management qualifications.
• Experience with GISTM, ANCOLD Guidelines, and Australian mining regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, 12d, AutoCAD, or Vulcan.
