Desktop Support Engineer (Deployment) | Contract (3month rolling) | Whangarei (Fully onsite)

We're looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join a large-scale device deployment project across Whangārei and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on role supporting end users through the rollout of new devices, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption.

About the Role
As part of the deployment team, you'll provide face-to-face support to end users during device rollout and migration activities. You'll assist with device setup, troubleshoot common issues, answer user questions, and help users become productive on their new devices. Your key Responsibilities include:
  • Provide on-site desktop support during device deployment and migration activities
  • Assist users with device setup, configuration, and onboarding
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Resolve first-level technical issues quickly to minimise disruption
  • Escalate more complex incidents to the appropriate technical teams
About You
  • Previous experience in Desktop Support, IT Support, Service Desk, or End User Computing
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows devices and common desktop technologies
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Confident supporting users face-to-face in busy environments
  • Able to work independently while collaborating with the wider deployment team
  • Full New Zealand driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle, as travel throughout Whangārei and surrounding areas is required
