A large, values-driven WA organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join its high-performing finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will partner closely with operational leaders to provide commercial insights, financial analysis, and strategic decision support across a diverse service-based environment.
This is a genuine business partnering role suited to a commercially minded CA/CPA-qualified professional who enjoys influencing stakeholders, improving processes, and supporting operational performance through meaningful financial insight.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Partnering & Decision Support
- Partner with Executive Directors, General Managers and operational leaders to support strategic and financial decision-making
- Deliver financial modelling, business cases, costing analysis and operational insights
- Monitor performance against budgets and KPIs, providing actionable recommendations
- Support tender submissions and funding-related analysis
- Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and sustainable growth
Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial performance reports with detailed variance analysis
- Support board and management reporting processes
- Manage month-end and year-end processes including journals, reconciliations and transactional reviews
- Assist with audit processes, compliance reporting and acquittals
- Drive improvements in reporting accuracy, automation and financial processes
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Coordinate budgeting and forecasting activities across operational divisions
- Develop detailed bottom-up budgets and forecast models
- Support long-term financial planning and reporting presentations
Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Business Intelligence teams to enhance reporting capabilities
- Support the transition of reporting into Power BI and automated solutions
- Improve manual processes and identify opportunities for efficiencies across finance operations
You are a proactive and commercially focused finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys partnering with stakeholders across the business.
You will ideally bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Experience in a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Analyst or Senior Management Accountant role
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling capability
- Experience with month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills
- Power BI and/or Power Query experience highly regarded
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Broad and commercially focused finance role
