Our client is a public organization in Hong Kong. They are looking for a visionary, strategic, and high-caliber communications leader to take on the role of Associate Director (Communications).
The Role
Based within the Communications and Public Affairs Office, you will lead a diversified content and communications team. Your mission is to shape and execute an impactful, forward-looking storytelling and campaign strategy that elevates the organization's global brand value, authority, and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategic Brand Positioning: Develop and implement integrated storytelling, campaign, and communication strategies that align with the institution's strategic vision. Champion transformation and drive change in modern communication approaches across all platforms.
- Content Hub & Publications Strategy: Oversee the planning, production, and end-to-end management of flagship publications, thematic campaigns, and institutional milestone initiatives (including anniversary communications). Establish a central content hub to adapt, repurpose, and optimize narratives across digital media, video, magazines, and websites.
- Storytelling: Partner closely with world renowned stakeholders and leaders to translate complex, highly complicated data and technical subject matter into accessible, high-impact public stories.
- Executive Communications & Speechwriting: Act as the trusted communications advisor to the top executive layer (including the Chairman and President). Craft exceptional, high-stakes speeches, messaging guidelines, presentations, and corporate briefings.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster close partnerships with the executive offices and internal departments to maintain absolute alignment in all public-facing and corporate messaging.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Education: A recognized degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a highly relevant field.
- Experience: A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in a senior-level corporate communications capacity, with a proven track record of managing and inspiring a diverse content team. Direct experience within the government, public organizations, or highly-structured environment is highly preferred.
- Elite Communication Skills: Exceptional written and editing capabilities. A flawless, native-level command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) is mandatory.
- Technical & Brand Acumen: Strong foundational knowledge of modern brand management, media landscape trends, and advanced strategic communication principles.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with the gravitas to collaborate effortlessly across complex organizational matrices and counsel C-level executives.
What’s on Offer
The successful candidate will be offered a highly competitive remuneration package. The initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract, with long-term re-engagement subject to mutual agreement.
