CFO

As a CFO you’ll lead a growing team, partner closely with nonprofit leadership, and deliver clear, timely financials that help clients make better decisions.

Responsibilities

1. Own client relationships for a portfolio of ~30–40 nonprofits, including monthly check-ins/meetings, expectation-setting, and proactive problem-solving to drive retention and satisfaction.
2. Oversee accurate, on-time monthly close and reporting, ensuring high-quality financial statements and clean processes aligned with nonprofit needs (including restricted funds and audit readiness).
3. Lead and develop your team (typically 7–8 people), including weekly 1:1s, training, performance feedback, and capacity planning to keep deliverables on track.
4. Serve as a strategic financial partner by presenting financial insights to leadership/boards, supporting budgets and cash-flow forecasting, and improving client systems/workflows.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with strong full-cycle accounting fundamentals (GAAP-based; nonprofit experience preferred).
2. 3–5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting/audit or outsourced accounting strongly preferred), with the ability to interpret and explain financials clearly to non-accountants.
3. People leadership experience required: at least 1–2 direct reports managed, with a track record of coaching, accountability, and building team performance.
4. Tech-forward, process-driven mindset with proficiency in Excel and comfort working in a cloud accounting stack (QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Dext, Monday.com)
