Security Guard

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $20/hour
• Shift: Day Shift, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off

Security Guard Key Responsibilities:

• Control access to the building and yard (employees, visitors, vendors, and drivers)
• Check IDs, verify appointments/dispatch information, and maintain visitor/vehicle logs
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled foot/vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior (dock doors, gates, parking areas, perimeter)
• Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security systems; report suspicious activity immediately
• Enforce site safety and security procedures (badge compliance, restricted areas, no-trespass rules, etc.)
• Respond to incidents such as unauthorized entry, safety hazards, disturbances, medical events, or property damage
• Complete clear, accurate reports (shift logs, incident reports, inspection checklists)
• Communicate professionally with warehouse leadership, truck drivers, employees, and emergency responders as needed
• Support basic emergency procedures (evacuation support, contacting police/fire/EMS, securing the scene)

Security Guard Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior security experience is a plus (distribution/warehouse environment preferred)
• Ability to stay alert and focused during overnight hours
• Strong communication skills and good judgment in high-pressure situations
• Comfortable using basic technology (radio, phone, computer/tablet, camera monitoring systems)
• Must be able to follow procedures, maintain confidentiality, and act professionally at all times
• Must be able to pass required background screening (and any site-specific requirements)

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform routine patrols indoors/outdoors
• Ability to climb stairs and work in varying temperatures/weather conditions as needed
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally (e.g., cones, signage, small packages)
