Location: Pomona, CA – Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite
Contract: 12 Months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $64.47 per hour
We are seeking an experienced Senior Transmission & Distribution Line Engineer to support electric utility overhead line design and engineering projects.
This role will perform transmission and distribution line design and analysis using industry-standard engineering tools including PLS-CADD and PLS-Pole, develop engineering packages for overhead line and pole/foundation projects, and provide technical support throughout design and construction.
A Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required for this position.
Key Responsibilities

Perform transmission and distribution line design and analysis using PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, SPIDAcalc and related engineering software.

Develop and review engineering packages for overhead transmission and distribution line projects.

Perform engineering analysis associated with pole and foundation designs.

Complete engineering calculations and technical reviews to support utility line design.

Ensure designs comply with GO95, NESC, ASCE and applicable utility engineering standards.

Independently perform engineering design work and technical reviews.

Identify and resolve technical and design-related issues.

Provide technical support to construction and field personnel.

Participate in field visits when required to support engineering and construction activities.

Collaborate with project teams and other engineering disciplines.

Provide technical guidance and engineering support throughout project execution.

Support the continuous improvement of engineering standards, procedures and design practices.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

3+ years of electric utility transmission and/or distribution line design experience.

Experience using PLS-CADD and/or PLS-Pole.

Knowledge of GO95, NESC and applicable utility design standards.

Strong analytical and engineering problem-solving skills.

Ability to independently perform engineering design work and technical reviews.
Preferred Experience

SPIDAcalc experience.

PLS-Caisson experience.

California electric utility experience.

Experience with pole and foundation design.
-
Experience applying ASCE standards to utility engineering projects.
Key Technical Skills
The strongest candidates will combine electric utility transmission or distribution line design experience with hands-on knowledge of PLS-CADD or PLS-Pole and familiarity with overhead line design standards.
Experience with California utility requirements, GO95, SPIDAcalc, PLS-Caisson and pole/foundation engineering would be particularly valuable.
PE license is not required.
