Automatic Door Engineer (Subcontract) – Norfolk

V7 Recruitment is working with an established provider of automatic entrance, industrial door and access solutions. Due to an increase in service and maintenance work, we are looking for an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to cover sites across Norfolk and the surrounding areas.

This position will primarily involve automatic pedestrian doors, although experience with roller shutters, industrial doors, gates or barriers would also be beneficial.

The Role

Contract type: Subcontract – Service and Maintenance
Location: Norfolk and surrounding areas

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a variety of automatic entrance systems across commercial, industrial and public-sector sites.

• Automatic swing doors
• Automatic sliding doors
• Bi-fold and telescopic doors
• Door operators, sensors and safety devices
• Access control interfaces
• Roller shutters
• Sectional and overhead doors
• Gates and barrier systems

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on automatic door systems.
• Attend reactive callouts and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete repairs, adjustments and replacement of defective components.
• Test door operators, sensors and safety equipment.
• Ensure systems operate safely and in accordance with current industry standards.
• Identify any additional remedial works required.
• Complete service reports and supporting documentation accurately.
• Communicate professionally with customers and site representatives.
• Manage your own workload and travel between sites independently.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience servicing and repairing automatic pedestrian doors.
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical components.
• Experience with leading automatic door manufacturers and operators.
• ADSA qualification is essential.
• DHF qualification is required for engineers working on industrial doors, shutters, gates or barriers.
• Experience within commercial, industrial or public-sector environments.
• Valid DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Own tools and transport.
• Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of customer service.

• £38.00–£41.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Initial six-month contract with excellent extension potential
