About the Position
The College is seeking an Italian Teacher to join its Languages team from January 2027 in a full-time position.
The successful teacher will deliver Italian across Primary and Junior Secondary year levels, creating engaging and age-appropriate language learning experiences that build confidence, cultural understanding and strong foundational language skills.
Primary teaching experience is highly desirable, making this particularly suitable for an Italian specialist who is confident working with younger learners as well as students progressing into secondary school.
Experience with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) and/or Middle Years Programme (MYP) would be advantageous but is not essential.
Skills and Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Italian programs across Primary and Junior Secondary year levels.

Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and professional conduct.

Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning and student progress.

Collaborate with Languages, Primary and Secondary teaching teams to support consistent curriculum delivery.

Contribute to curriculum planning and contemporary language pedagogy, including IB frameworks where applicable.
Requirements

Current registration with, or eligibility for registration with, the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).

Demonstrated capability teaching Italian.

Primary teaching experience is highly desirable.

Confidence teaching across both Primary and Junior Secondary settings.

IB PYP and/or MYP experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Full Australian work rights.

Ability to support the values and ethos of a Catholic school community.

Two professional referees and completion of HARKE's onboarding and safeguarding requirements.
