Communications Manager to drive all communications activities Japan and support external and internal communication activities for the business. Be part of a small, cross-functional team that will deal with operational and long-term strategic plans for the assigned market units / customers.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Creating and driving a strategic communications strategy for Japan including external stakeholder management program and PR campaigns.
- Develop an internal communication strategy that improves employee engagement and communications
- Support Japan country leadership team in communicating the strategy priorities and goals through effective channels and contributing to improving metrics.
- Develop and manage various communication channels – Inside News, Blog, Yammer, quarterly mailer, etc – and encourage usage from the different stakeholders
- Highlight key wins and successes through internal articles and blogs to share best practices as well as recognize and motivate employees
- Engage with internal stakeholder such as Marketing, HR and other support functions to define collaborative ways to drive employee engagement in the Market
- Support global communication initiatives by cascading them to all Japan employees through regional channels
- Support change and crisis management projects from a communications perspective
- Monitoring and managing issues with external stakeholder including any reactive media statements that may be required.
- 3-5 years of experience in a corporate communications role (Internal, external) in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent writing and editing skills are a must , along with strong verbal and interpersonal skills in Japanese and English
- Ability to deconstruct technical jargon and convert it into simple and understandable language
- Ability to communicate through different types of channels – blogs, internal articles, speeches, videos – to different types of audiences
- Ability to advise senior leaders from a wide range of functions – Sales, Finance, HR, Business Units – and provide them with communication solutions
- Ability to network with different functional groups – HR, Customer Marketing, Account Teams, Country Directors – to find the right stories that need to be communicated
- Consistently proactive thinker that finds new and more efficient ways to communicate in an ever-changing and fast-paced business environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
- Demonstrate integrity in judgement and commitment to solve any problem.
- Be a communications single point of contact and advisor to the Japan country leadership team
- Connect with the global icomms council, HR, Customer Marketing, Account Teams
