Design & Build Recruitment are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join a high-performing project team delivering major commercial construction projects across Canberra.

With a strong pipeline of work spanning government, commercial, education, health and mixed-use developments, this is an opportunity to build your career with a business renowned for delivering complex, high-quality projects.

Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Site Managers, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.

The Opportunity
As Contract Administrator, you'll be responsible for ensuring the financial and contractual success of your projects while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and clients.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing, issuing and managing subcontract packages
  • Procurement of trades and suppliers
  • Contract administration and compliance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assessing subcontractor progress claims and processing payment schedules
  • Managing variations, extensions of time and contractual correspondence
  • Monitoring project budgets, forecasting costs and reporting financial performance
  • Assisting with project programming and procurement planning
  • Preparing monthly cost reports and supporting project financial reviews
  • Working closely with project teams to ensure successful commercial outcomes
About You
You'll be an organised and commercially focused professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced project environment.
You'll ideally bring:
  • Experience as a Contract Administrator within commercial construction
  • Exposure to projects valued from $20M+
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes
  • Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and consultants
  • Degree qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
