Reporting to finance leadership, the Project Accountant will support project-based financial operations, reporting, and analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial tracking, support month-end activities, and help drive financial performance across multiple client-facing projects.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with project teams to maintain accurate financial information throughout the project lifecycle
- Support project setup, modifications, billing activities, project closures, and financial administration processes
- Assist stakeholders in identifying financial risks and opportunities to support informed business decisions
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end reporting schedules
- Support revenue recognition, work-in-progress accounting, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue processes
- Monitor project financial performance and assist with forecasting, analysis, and reporting activities
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and audit requirements
- Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reporting accuracy
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams to support strategic and ad hoc projects as needed
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 1–3 years of accounting, financial analysis, project accounting, or related experience
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting processes
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis functions
- Experience working with ERP systems is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn in a collaborative team setting
