Job Summary
Bekaert is seeking a Regional Sales Engineer to expand the adoption of its innovative steel and synthetic fiber reinforcement solutions throughout the Midwest. This position combines technical engineering expertise with consultative sales, partnering with structural engineers, consultants, and decision-makers to influence project specifications early in the design process.
The ideal candidate has a Civil or Structural Engineering background, enjoys building long-term relationships, and is passionate about helping customers solve complex engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales & Business Development
- Develop relationships with structural engineers, consultants, contractors, and key project stakeholders.
- Drive specification and adoption of Bekaert's steel and synthetic fiber reinforcement products.
- Identify new business opportunities while growing existing customer relationships.
- Expand market share throughout the assigned Midwest territory.
Engineering & Customer Support
- Educate engineers, architects, and customers on product applications and technical advantages.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource throughout the design and specification process.
- Deliver technical presentations to engineering firms, customers, and industry organizations.
- Partner with internal engineering and technical teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
Territory Management
- Independently manage a multi-state sales territory.
- Travel approximately 40%, primarily every other week.
- Build strategic relationships with engineering firms and industry influencers.
- Represent Bekaert at ACI chapter meetings, technical seminars, and industry events.
Qualifications
Industry Experience
- 3–7 years of professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience with reinforced concrete systems preferred.
- Technical sales or business development experience is a plus.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and grow a territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering-related certifications.
- Experience participating in ACI chapters or other industry organizations.
- Exposure to steel fiber or synthetic fiber reinforcement products is a plus.

Travel & Work Environment

- Preferred home base near Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus (OH), or Detroit, with proximity to a major airport.
- Approximately 40% travel, generally every other week, with flexibility to manage your own travel schedule.
