BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

At MSC Industrial Supply, we deliver innovative technology solutions that drive operational excellence across our supply chain network. We are seeking an IT Functional Analyst, Supply Chain to support and enhance our logistics and supply chain software platforms, serving as the key liaison between business users and technology teams. This role will focus on Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), and related supply chain applications. The IT Functional Analyst, Supply Chain will analyze functional processes, troubleshoot and support production applications, gather requirements, document functional specifications, coordinate system testing and user training and collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams to deliver effective solutions that improve logistics operations. The ideal candidate combines strong functional knowledge of supply chain processes with analytical and communication skills to support continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary functional Analyst for logistics and supply chain applications.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and understand operational challenges and recommend technology solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams, implementation partners, and Software vendors to resolve issues and deliver enhancements.
  • Analyze and document current and future-state business processes.
  • Gather, document, and manage business and functional requirements.
  • Create user documentation, training materials, and operational procedures.
  • Participate and coordinate system configuration, testing, implementation, and post-production support activities.
  • Support integration activities between IBM iSeries ERP, TMS, WMS, WCS, automation platforms, and other peripherals systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans, validation scenarios, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within logistics, supply chain, and related applications.
  • Participate in project planning, requirements workshops, solution design reviews, and deployment activities.
  • Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for process optimization and automation
  • Follow established IT governance, change management, and support processes.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related discipline or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and supporting enterprise supply chain applications.
  • Experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, warehouse operations, or supply chain management preferred.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders, software vendors, and technical teams.

  • Understanding of transportation, logistics, and distribution business processes.

  • Functional Process Knowledge, supply chain preferred.
  • Required: Knowledge of Office productivity suite, or similar.
  • Preferred: Collaboration, Project Life Cycle and Services Management Tools such as MS SharePoint, and HPLAM, Service Now

 

Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 25% of the time may be required.
  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”)

Compensation starting at $55,700 - $81,245 depending on candidate location and experience.

 

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
