We are seeking a motivated Junior Power Systems Database Modeler to support computer-based modeling activities within the energy and utilities sector.
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent engineering graduate looking to apply their technical and analytical skills while developing specialized experience in power systems and database modeling.
No significant prior modeling experience is required. The successful candidate will receive approximately three to four months of structured classroom and on-the-job training covering database modeling tools, standards, processes, and procedures.
What You'll Do

Support computer-based database modeling activities within a technical power systems environment.

Learn and apply specialized database modeling tools, standards, and procedures.

Work with engineering and technical information to create and maintain accurate models.

Review technical data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Apply engineering principles and analytical skills to support modeling activities.

Follow established technical standards, processes, and quality requirements.

Identify potential data issues and work with experienced team members to resolve discrepancies.

Develop knowledge of power systems and their application within computer-based modeling environments.

Participate in structured classroom and hands-on technical training.

Work collaboratively with engineering and technical teams while developing expertise in the role.
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or another engineering discipline.

Recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Academic concentration or coursework in power systems is preferred.

Completion of courses such as Power Systems I and Power Systems II is highly desirable.

Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with technical information.

Ability and willingness to learn specialized computer-based database modeling applications and procedures.

Good communication and organizational skills.
Who We're Looking For
This position is particularly well suited to a recent Electrical Engineering graduate who has completed university-level power systems coursework and is interested in building a career within the electric power industry.
Candidates from all electrical engineering concentrations will be considered, as will graduates from other engineering disciplines who demonstrate the technical aptitude and interest required to learn power systems database modeling.
Previous professional database modeling experience is not required. Training will be provided to help the successful candidate develop the specialized skills needed for the position.
