Role: Key Workers

Contract: Full-Time - Permanent - 39 Hours

Salary: €40,851 per annum

Location: North Dublin/ Finglas Based

The Key Worker role involves welcoming new families into the service and ensure the provision of practical and emotional supports. Key workers will provide emergency accommodation to Women and Children fleeing Domestic Abuse and provide support and structured services to residents in Refuge and Community settings, operating the 24-hour free Helpline, carrying out assessments of support needs; providing information, advocacy and referral services.

Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Client Services

• Make an initial assessment of a client’s support needs via the refuge/ drop-in/helpline service.
• Provide information, advocacy and referrals to appropriate services.
• Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary agencies.

Linkages

• Develop referral links for clients with local support services and networks.
• Develop links with local service providers.

Administration

• Maintain and manage all client case records to a high professional standard, ensuring all information is accurately documented and updated.
• Ensure standards are maintained and adhered to in line with policy, procedure and legislation.

Essential Requirements:

• Third Level Qualification at degree level in social science, social care or related field.
• A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience working in a social care setting with women/ families.
• Experience of key-working clients or individual case-work.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and issues affecting women and children experiencing domestic violence.
• Excellent knowledge and practical understanding of child protection, child welfare and safeguarding principles, including the ability to recognise, respond to, record and report child protection and welfare concerns in line with Children First legislation, organisational policy and best practice.
• Understanding and working knowledge of Domestic Violence Act/ Children’s First Legislation/ Child Care Act.
• Excellent facilitation, training and communication skills.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of inter-agency working
• Full driving License
