FLT Driver / Yard Operative – Waste Transfer Station

We are recruiting FLT Drivers / Yard Operatives for our waste management client based in Bromsgrove. This is a great opportunity to join a busy Waste Transfer Station, working in a hands‑on role within a supportive team.

The Role

As an FLT Driver / Yard Operative, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, sorting, and movement of waste materials across the site. You will play a key role in maintaining site standards, supporting operations, and always ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Waste Handling & Operations

• Receive, unload, sort, and move waste safely and accurately
• Operate a Counterbalance FLT to move materials around site
• Place waste into correct bays, containers, or stockpiles
• Prevent cross‑contamination of waste streams
• Assist with loading outgoing waste safely and efficiently

Site Standards

• Keep the yard clean, tidy, and hazard‑free
• Follow all site layout rules, signage, and traffic management
• Maintain bays, skips, and working areas to high standards

Teamwork & Support

• Support supervisors, weighbridge teams, and drivers when needed
• Follow clear instructions from site management
• Communicate professionally with drivers and customers on site

• No unauthorised removal of waste or materials

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (essential)
• Experience in a yard, recycling, warehousing, or waste environment (preferred)
• Safety‑focused mindset and good communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team

Hours & Pay

• Shift: 08:00 – 17:00
• Rate: £12.21 – £13.00 per hour
• Start Date: ASAP
