Industrial Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Mechanical) – Kansas City, MO

Location: North Kansas City, Missouri
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday; overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed. 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts are available.
Pay: $28-$35+ based on experience

About the Position
A Kansas City manufacturer specializing in steel and aluminum coil blanking for automotive stamping is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production equipment and facility systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems
  • Diagnose PLCs, VFDs, motors, controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Repair and maintain bearings, belts, chains, pumps, and drives
  • Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspections and adjustments
  • Maintain facility systems, including electrical, lighting, HVAC, and plumbing
  • Document preventive maintenance and repairs in a CMMS
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and all safety procedures
  • Identify equipment issues and support continuous improvement
  • Follow ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent military training
  • 2–3 years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with PLCs and VFDs
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Lockout/Tagout experience
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • HVAC, steel, or aluminum manufacturing experience a plus
  • Powered industrial equipment certification a plus
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Dependable, safety-focused, self-motivated, and team-oriented

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Heavy industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to steel/aluminum processing equipment. PPE required on the plant floor. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working around industrial machinery. Ability to lift/move 50+ lbs as needed.
