About the Role
We are seeking multiple System Software Administrators to support the deployment, security, automation and ongoing management of enterprise Linux environments.
Working within a highly skilled team, you will contribute to the delivery and maintenance of secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure while supporting a range of operational and project-based activities. This role offers the opportunity to work across modern technologies, including cloud platforms, virtualisation, automation and containerised environments.

About the Role
We are seeking multiple System Software Administrators to support the deployment, security, automation and ongoing management of enterprise Linux environments.
Working within a highly skilled team, you will contribute to the delivery and maintenance of secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure while supporting a range of operational and project-based activities. This role offers the opportunity to work across modern technologies, including cloud platforms, virtualisation, automation and containerised environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administering Linux server environments including RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu and SUSE
- Managing user accounts, permissions and authentication services
- Monitoring system performance, availability and capacity
- Deploying system updates, security patches and configuration changes
- Configuring and supporting networking services including DNS, DHCP, VPNs and firewalls
- Managing storage solutions, backups and disaster recovery processes
- Automating administrative tasks using Bash, Python and Ansible
- Supporting virtualisation and container platforms such as VMware, KVM, Docker and Kubernetes
- Troubleshooting operating system, hardware and application issues
- Maintaining technical documentation and supporting compliance requirements
- Contributing to infrastructure improvements, planning activities and change implementations
You will be an experienced Linux Systems Administrator with strong technical skills and the ability to work independently within a secure enterprise environment.
Ideally, you will have experience with:
- Linux administration and shell scripting
- Operating systems, package management and kernel fundamentals
- TCP/IP networking, routing, DNS and SSH
- Security hardening, access controls and system security practices
- Infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
- Cloud platforms including Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
- Virtualisation and container technologies
- Identity and access management solutions, including Active Directory and Linux identity services
- Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI)
- Linux Identity, Policy and Authorisation (IPA)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology
- Long-term opportunity supporting critical Australian Government systems (2 year initial terms with 1 x 12 month extension option)
