About the role
As an Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance specialist to work within an integrated team of technical personnel, implementing a scalable AI governance framework, providing expert advice on the responsible use of AI, and overseeing governance and assurance activities to support senior executive assurance.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. Due to the work environment, our client has requested that all candidates are required to hold a current TSPV Security Clearance. The successful candidate will need to undergo an additional security assessment before commencing in the role.

Role Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to embed responsible‑use principles across AI and data initiatives; oversee governance and assurance activities, including reviews of impact statements and audits; contribute to and maintain AI policies, standards, guidelines, training, and documentation; and promote organisation‑wide awareness to strengthen AI maturity and assurance.
- By staying informed on the latest AI technologies, you will advise on complex problems; apply appropriate techniques, methodologies, and procedures; identify and track AI model inconsistencies; incorporate user feedback to drive improvements; and deliver high‑quality, timely products aligned with Defence mission objectives.
The successful candidate will demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.

- 12-month contract, with 2 x 12-month extension options.
