This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare operations professional seeking to develop their leadership career within one of Ireland's growing community healthcare providers. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting operational excellence and service growth across an expanding portfolio of services.
My client is seeking an ambitious and highly organised Deputy Operations Manager to support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day management, coordination and development of services across the organisation.
This is a dynamic operational role requiring a combination of office-based and community-based working. The successful candidate will work closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure the safe, effective and efficient delivery of services across the organisation, including:
- IV Antibiotic (OPAT) Services
- GP Practices
- Nursing Home Services
- Virtual Ward Services
- Nurse Advice Line
- Community Nursing Services
The Deputy Operations Manager will also participate in the organisation's out-of-hours operational on-call rota and support service continuity across all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support the Operations Manager in the daily management and oversight of all services.
- Assist with workforce planning, rostering, recruitment, on-boarding and resource allocation.
- Monitor service performance, activity levels and operational KPIs.
- Support the implementation of new services, projects and operational initiatives.
- Ensure operational policies and procedures are implemented consistently across all services.
- Assist in managing incidents, complaints, investigations and service improvement actions.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Service Delivery
- Conduct regular visits to community locations, GP practices, nursing homes and partner healthcare providers.
- Support clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Assist with audits, quality assurance programmes and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Support the implementation of HSE and organisational service developments.
- Ensure services operate in line with company policies, governance requirements and best practice standards.
Leadership & Team Support
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to operational and clinical teams.
- Act as a point of escalation in the absence of the Operations Manager.
- Promote a positive, collaborative and patient-centred culture.
- Support staff development, training and performance management processes.
Out-of-Hours Responsibilities
- Participate in the operational on-call rota.
- Provide operational support and escalation management outside of normal business hours when required.
- Support business continuity and emergency response arrangements.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an nursing / operational , healthcare management or service coordination role.
- Minimum 5 years post Nursing Qualification
- Strong understanding of healthcare governance, quality and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare management systems.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between service locations.
Desirable Criteria
- Qualification in Healthcare Management, Business Management, Nursing, Health & Social Care or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting operational delivery across multiple healthcare services.
- Knowledge of HSE-funded community healthcare programmes.
- Experience participating in an on-call management rota.
