My client is seeking a talented and motivated Architect or Architectural Technologist to join their highly respected architectural practice, specialising in bespoke private residential, heritage and conservation-led projects across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop a rewarding long-term career within a collaborative and design-focused studio renowned for delivering exceptional traditional and classical architecture.

The successful candidate will ideally have at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience, although strong early-career Architects with a demonstrable interest in heritage and conservation will also be considered. You will contribute across all RIBA work stages on a diverse portfolio of high-quality projects including country houses, townhouses, listed buildings, heritage restorations and contextual urban design schemes.

The Role
You will work as part of a collaborative team delivering bespoke residential and conservation-led projects from concept through to completion. The role will involve design development, technical detailing, consultant coordination and project delivery across all RIBA stages.

This position would suit an ambitious and creative individual with strong technical ability, excellent attention to detail and a passion for architecture within historic and traditional contexts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to projects across all RIBA work stages
  • Produce high-quality design, technical and construction information
  • Assist with technical detailing and construction documentation
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants and wider project teams
  • Deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets
  • Support the delivery of bespoke residential, conservation and heritage-focused schemes
  • Work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Attend site visits and meetings across the UK where required

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist
  • Ideally 2+ years’ professional PQ experience, although strong newly qualified candidates will also be considered
  • Experience working on bespoke private residential projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential construction and detailing
  • Good understanding of UK planning policy, Building Regulations and construction methods
  • Knowledge of listed building consent and heritage-related project processes is advantageous
  • Good understanding of contractual and project delivery processes
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong design ability with excellent attention to detail
  • Practical and proactive problem-solving approach
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Willingness to travel within the UK
  • Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience working on high-end traditional or classical residential projects
  • Interest or experience in conservation and historic buildings
  • Knowledge of traditional building systems, materials and construction techniques
  • Experience using ArchiCAD (training can be provided)
  • Understanding of traditional and classical architectural principles
