Our respected client is seeking an experienced Associate Counsel to support its growing digital financial businesses. The successful candidate will provide legal and regulatory advice, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, support regulatory engagements, and collaborate closely with local and regional stakeholders. The position is based in Taguig City, Philippines.
Job Responsibilities:
Our respected client is seeking an experienced Associate Counsel to support its growing digital financial businesses. The successful candidate will provide legal and regulatory advice, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, support regulatory engagements, and collaborate closely with local and regional stakeholders. The position is based in Taguig City, Philippines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on regulatory matters affecting the company's digital financial services and business operations.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial contracts and legal documents.
- Support the business in ensuring compliance with applicable Philippine financial services laws and regulations.
- Assist in engagements with regulatory authorities and support regulatory submissions when required.
- Work closely with headquarters, local legal, compliance, business, and cross-functional teams to address legal and regulatory issues.
- Identify legal risks and recommend practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Support legal projects and initiatives while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on developments in financial services regulations and industry practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient legal operations.
- Perform other legal and corporate responsibilities as assigned.
- Qualified lawyer with a Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws degree and admission to the Philippine Bar.
- At least 3–6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in financial services regulations and products.
- Prior in-house legal experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong working knowledge of Philippine financial services laws, particularly in payments, digital financial services, and consumer lending products.
- Excellent contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex legal matters, multiple stakeholders, and tight timelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
