Experienced CNC Programmer Wanted – Precision Manufacturing
This role is responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs that drive high-quality production of precision metal components. The ideal candidate will have strong programming experience, excellent blueprint interpretation skills, and a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling machines using engineering drawings and CAD files.
- Develop efficient machining strategies to maximize productivity while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with production personnel to troubleshoot machining issues and improve cycle times.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting paths for various materials.
- Verify program accuracy through first-article inspections and test runs.
- Support CNC operators with program adjustments, setup guidance, and technical troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Maintain program revisions, setup sheets, tooling documentation, and manufacturing records.
- Ensure all programs meet quality standards and production deadlines.
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
- Minimum 3 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience programming CNC milling machines.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, work holding, and metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, or similar.
- Proficient using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with production teams.
- Experience programming aluminum and steel components.
- Knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming.
- Experience with Haas, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls.
- Background in custom fabrication or low-to-medium volume manufacturing.
- Continuous improvement or process optimization experience.
