This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with an agricultural, environmental, or agri-food background who is looking to build a long-term career within a specialist consultancy environment. The successful candidate will join a close-knit and supportive team, gaining hands-on experience across nutrient management planning, agri-environmental administration, regulatory compliance, and client support.
The role is ideally suited to candidates living within a reasonable commuting distance of Enfield and offers excellent learning and development opportunities under the guidance of experienced consultants.
The Role
As a Junior Agri Consultant, you will provide technical and administrative support to the consultancy team, assisting with a range of agricultural, environmental, and client-focused projects.
Working closely with senior consultants and management, you will play an important role in supporting the preparation of nutrient management plans, DAFM scheme applications, data reporting requirements, and day-to-day client administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and administration of Nutrient Management Plans (NMPs).
- Support the submission and administration of DAFM schemes and applications on behalf of clients.
- Liaise with farmers, agri-business clients, laboratories, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with environmental and agricultural data collection, processing, and reporting.
- Provide administrative support to the consultancy team on a range of client projects.
- Maintain accurate records and client documentation.
- Support client communications and respond to queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Prepare pro-forma invoices and assist with general office administration.
- Assist with compliance-related documentation and reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively within a small team environment, supporting colleagues as required.
- Undertake additional duties and project work as necessary to support the objectives of the business.
Candidate Profile
We are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:
- A qualification in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agri-Business, or a related discipline.
- Ideally 1-2 years' experience in an advisory, consultancy, agricultural administration, sustainability, or agri-food related role.
- A practical understanding of the Irish agricultural sector.
- Strong administrative, organisational, and data processing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn within a specialist consultancy environment.
