The Role:
You will deliver culturally responsive counselling to men, young men, and boys in the community through individual, family, and group sessions. Your work will involve developing tailored treatment plans that incorporate trauma-informed and strength-based approaches, ensuring they respect cultural protocols and community values.
Collaborating closely with colleague, you will facilitate therapeutic group activities, support family relationships, and help strengthen community bonds. You will advocate for clients' needs within the local health and social services system, ensuring they receive appropriate support and resources.
Your role also includes providing education on social and emotional wellbeing, trauma recovery, and resilience building, while maintaining respectful, trust based relationships with clients and their families to promote healing and positive change.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work, Counselling, or a related field
- Current registration or eligibility with a relevant professional body
- Driver’s license
- WWCC or Ochre Care
- National Police Check
