Join a growing structural steel and fabrication team where quality and craftsmanship are critical to every project. We're seeking a detail-oriented QC Assistant to support weld inspections, quality documentation, dimensional verification, and fabrication compliance throughout the production process.
Pay Range: $25-$35+/hr
Shift: 1st Shift M-F (9am-5:00pm) & 2nd Shift M-F (1:30pm-10:30pm)
What You'll Do
- Perform visual weld inspections during fabrication and final assembly
- Verify welds meet drawing, WPS, and code requirements
- Identify and communicate weld defects and quality concerns to production personnel
- Perform dimensional inspections using standard measuring tools
- Review fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and quality documentation
- Complete inspection reports and nonconformance documentation (NCRs)
- Verify incoming materials and work-in-process meet quality standards
- Support NDE coordination and quality system documentation
- Assist with maintaining inspection records and quality compliance
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of quality inspection, welding, or fabrication experience
- Ability to read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols
- Knowledge of weld inspection methods and common weld defects
- Familiarity with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Experience using inspection tools such as calipers, fillet weld gauges, and measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- AWS CWI certification or NDE experience is a plus
- Ability to work effectively with welders, fitters, and production personnel
