Digital Business Analyst

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a Federal Government client delivering large-scale digital transformation and service improvement initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Business Analyst to work closely with business and technical stakeholders to drive product and process improvements, gather and document requirements, support project delivery, and contribute to meaningful outcomes that improve services for Australians.

About the Role As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering product and business process improvements by working with stakeholders to understand business needs, analyse requirements, assess risks, and support the successful delivery of projects and programs.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will provide specialist advice, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and contribute to strategic initiatives within a complex and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse and document business and functional requirements.
• Conduct gap analysis and support solution design activities.
• Develop and maintain business process maps, workflows and supporting documentation.
• Translate stakeholder needs into clear and actionable requirements.
• Support product design and enhancement initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.

Project Delivery & Governance

• Work closely with project managers and delivery teams to support project implementation.
• Assist with risk identification, assessment and mitigation activities.
• Contribute to project planning, reporting and governance requirements.
• Support conformance assessment and testing activities as required.
• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes and business impacts.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings and consultation sessions.
• Communicate complex information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
• Anticipate stakeholder needs and contribute to positive engagement outcomes.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, products and service delivery.
• Support the development of documentation, standards and best practice approaches.
• Contribute to strategic planning, policy development and business improvement initiatives.
• Promote quality assurance and continuous improvement within the team.

About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Minimum three years' experience as a Business Analyst.
• Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation.
• Strong business process mapping, process improvement and documentation skills.
• Experience undertaking risk assessments and supporting governance activities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes under limited direction.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across business, technical and project teams.
• Experience producing high-quality documentation, reports and recommendations.

Highly Desirable

• Experience working within healthcare, health technology or public sector environments.
• Experience supporting digital transformation or technology-enabled business change programs.
• Knowledge of digital health standards and specifications, including:
  • HL7 CDA
  • FHIR
• Experience working within a Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) framework.
• Understanding of regulatory, policy and governance environments within government.
