Pay and Hours for Job + Benefits: $20/hour – this is a 7 months assignment that may extend.
Job Description:
The Marketing Assistant / Branding & Merchandising Specialist is responsible for managing point-of-purchase (POP) materials, supporting the sales team through strategic reporting, controlling marketing expenses, and overseeing brand presence across retail and wholesale channels. This position also coordinates events, assists with repack projects, and provides cross-functional support to ensure effective marketing operations.
A high level of organization, attention to detail, analytical ability, and cross-departmental collaboration is essential for success in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting & Sales Support
- Prepare and maintain sales and marketing reports.
- Generate SKU sales reports by category and country, including 24-month views for tools and accessories.
- Prepare monthly COOP control reports.
- Assist with purchasing plans and POP inventory reports.
- Provide customized reports and insights to support the sales team with market and client analysis.
Point-of-Purchase (POP) Material Management
- Process and manage POP material orders.
- Monitor virtual and physical POP inventory.
- Conduct quarterly inventory audits.
- Negotiate orders, pricing, and terms with new and existing suppliers.
Marketing Expense Control & COOP Program Management
- Reconcile and review marketing expenses according to commercial agreements.
- Ensure expenses align with established budgets and internal payment procedures.
- Monitor customer budgets.
- Maintain documentation according to auditing standards and reporting deadlines.
- Oversee monthly COOP reports and reconcile expenses with Accounts Payable.
Retail & Wholesale Channel Support
- Monitor weekly sales and attendance reports for retail promoters.
- Analyze competitor activity within retail environments.
- Prepare salary and travel expense reimbursements.
- Coordinate with third-party agencies regarding salary reporting.
- Oversee the use of POP and branding materials.
- Maintain brand consistency and quality standards across merchandising materials.
Accounting Support
- Initiate requests for credit notes and internal requisition forms.
- Communicate credit and reimbursement statuses with clients.
Inventory Oversight
- Request inventory adjustments as needed.
- Conduct systematic reviews of POP inventory.
Event Coordination
- Manage event budgets and quotation processes, including venues, entertainment, and logistics.
- Review and coordinate contracts with hotels, restaurants, and other vendors.
Repack Project Support
- Assist with the execution of repack projects.
- Manage labels and printed materials.
- Monitor project budgets.
- Maintain UPC tracking for newly created product combinations.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, merchandising, or brand management.
- Bilingual English/Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced Excel skills, including functions and pivot tables.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with data analysis and market/trend analysis.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience generating and maintaining reports.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel for scheduled corporate events.
