Job Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Works under limited supervision to complete tasks in an efficient timeframe with high quality.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain government security clearance.
- Expected to be able to obtain DOD clearance in a reasonable amount of time after being hired.
- Read new customer contracts and conduct (commercial and DOD) a peer review of new contracts from a quality / compliance standpoint. ?Review the flow down of customer’s coded notes / standard clauses, that speak to quality requirements.
- Compile order control folders to collect required documentation for (lot/heat, NDE and Inspection) certification document retention requirements
- Verifies material certificates of conformance are provided and accurate.
- Scan and file certificates of conformance on the network using approved file structure.
- Receive certificates of conformance and material certifications into database.
- Process Quality Notifications for non-conforming material, working with Buyer and Planner to obtain replacement part and/or vendor debit
- Detailed writing and issuing of Quality Non-Conformances, Including Root Cause – Corrective Action requests.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation
- Will work closely with engineering and assembly teams to troubleshoot problems, determine root cause, and create corrective and preventative actions.
- Conduct final inspection on all packages to ensure compliance with the customers’ requirements
- Process SAP Warehouse Management and Inventory Management transactions accurately.
- Place material in storage location in accordance with SAP Warehouse Management location.
- Keeps an organized work area by performing various housekeeping and maintenance functions following 5S philosophies.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations, environmental regulating procedures and utilizes required safety equipment when appropriate.
- Adhere to GD Nash’s ISO 9001-2015 quality system, and Government Contract requirements.
- Participate in ISO 9001-2015 audits and any customer required audits
- Performs other duties as required.
- Position requires high school diploma or trade school graduate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control in an ISO 9001-2015 manufacturing environment.
- Position requires working knowledge of computers, quality inspection, and inventory management.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to read and write English, and have basic math competencies including geometry
- Must be able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings (including geometric tolerancing and dimensioning), 3D models, and assembly blueprints
- Working knowledge of Government Contract requirements related to technical flow downs, including FAR / DFAR regulations and other standard clauses and coded notes.
- Advance knowledge and understanding of Military Quality / Manufacturing Specifications and Navy Technical Publications including those for Weld and Non-Destructive Testing.
- Incumbents must follow all safety rules, environmental procedures and utilize required safety
- equipment.
Preferences:
- Proficient in the use of standard inspection equipment. (Micrometer, caliper, depth gauge, thread gauge, etc.
- Able to use advanced inspection equipment (Faro, Romer, Keyence…)
- Pulls and stages material in designated staging areas, for both shipping and production use.
- Responsible for packaging shipments, this includes the use of nail guns and saw equipment.
- Place material in storage location in accordance with SAP Warehouse Management location.
- Physically unpacks crates and boxes of incoming parts.
- Place material in storage location in accordance with SAP Warehouse Management location.
- Material handling abilities on a forklift and overhead cranes.
- Working knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing Methods and reviewing reports (PMI, VT, PT) preferred
- This position may require up to 25% travel to supplier locations for quality audits, inspections, and issue resolution activities.
