Assistant Accountant

Clarity Partners has been exclusively approached to support a key client with their search for an Assistant Accountant.

About the Role

This is a hands-on opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to take ownership of key transactional, reconciliation and month-end accounting processes while developing broader exposure across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and process improvement. The role will evolve over time, providing the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as your experience and capability grow.

What You’ll Do

• Own key month-end accounting processes, including journals, reconciliations and financial schedules.
• Maintain accurate and timely financial records across the business.
• Manage and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Support working capital management and timely collection of outstanding accounts.
• Investigate discrepancies and follow up outstanding financial matters.
• Assist with management reporting, financial analysis and preparation of supporting information.
• Support budgeting and forecasting through the preparation and maintenance of financial models and schedules.
• Assist with financial controls, compliance and audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and utilise system capabilities more effectively.
• Work closely with leadership and broader stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Take ownership of assigned processes from preparation through to completion, escalating material issues where required.

About You

• Relevant accounting or finance qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• Experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and month-end processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• The ability to investigate discrepancies and proactively resolve outstanding matters.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with senior finance stakeholders.
• A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of processes.
• Experience with NetSuite or MYOB Greentree is highly desirable.
• A willingness to learn, improve processes and take on additional responsibilities as your capability develops.
