AndFound Educate is currently partnering with a newly constructed specialist Victorian Government facility near Werribee to appoint a Classroom Teacher VET Sport and Recreation, for an immediate start.

This is a unique and deeply meaningful opportunity to teach in a purpose-built, modern setting serving 15 to 18 year old young men in structured environments, where flexibility, resilience, and genuine care make a real difference every day.

You will deliver individually tailored education in small-group settings, teach the Victorian Curriculum alongside VET certificates, mentor young people preparing for community transition, and work within a deeply supportive, trauma-informed team culture with strong leadership support.

About the School

This brand-new, purpose-designed specialist Victorian Government facility (opened August 2023) serves 15 to 18 year old young men. Operating year-round, it delivers the Victorian Curriculum, Senior Secondary Certificates (VPC, VCE VM), and vocational training in nine trades accredited through Melbourne Polytechnic.

This is not a conventional teaching role - it requires adaptability, emotional resilience, and a genuine belief in every young person's potential. Teachers work alongside wellbeing teams in a deeply supportive culture.

Role Overview

• Position Type: Full Time Permanent
• Start Date: ASAP
• Location: Melbourne's Western Suburbs
• Subject Areas: VET Sport and Recreation (accredited through Melbourne Polytechnic)
• Salary: $78,564 to $118,063 FTE depending on experience and classification. POL allowances apply for leadership positions.

Role Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging VET Sport and Recreation lessons in small-group settings aligned to the Victorian Curriculum and Melbourne Polytechnic accreditation requirements
• Apply trauma-informed and applied learning principles to meet the individual needs of students in structured environments
• Support students in developing practical sport and recreation skills as a pathway to further education, employment and community transition
• Maintain accurate student records, assessments and reporting in line with school, Department of Education and RTO requirements
• Collaborate with wellbeing teams, community transition partners and colleagues on student support and curriculum planning
• Contribute to a positive, resilient and deeply supportive professional culture across the campus

About You
You are a qualified teacher who:

• Holds or is eligible to obtain Australian/NZ Citizenship, PR or valid work rights (Working Holiday Visa holders encouraged to apply)
• Holds or is eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
• Has an updated resume and can provide at least two recent professional references
• Brings creativity and adaptability to lesson planning and delivery
• Maintains high expectations for student learning and wellbeing
