The Department
You will provide leadership across a comprehensive range of medical services, including:
Leadership across General Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Palliative Care, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Respiratory Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Hospital in the Home and Virtual Care
Working closely with senior hospital executives, clinical leaders and district-wide stakeholders, you will help develop sustainable, patient-centred services that respond to the evolving needs of the regional community.

- Provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership across the Department of Medicine
- Lead service planning, redesign and performance improvement initiatives
- Oversee clinical governance, quality, safety and risk management
- Guide medical workforce planning, recruitment, wellbeing and professional development
- Strengthen physician education, supervision and training accreditation
- Champion contemporary models of care, including Medical Assessment Units, rapid-access clinics, Hospital in the Home and virtual care
- Support research and education through established university and medical research partnerships
- Build productive relationships across specialties, services and external organisations
- Represent the department at hospital and health-service leadership forums
- Maintain an active clinical practice within General Medicine or your recognised physician subspecialty
You will be an experienced, collaborative and forward-thinking medical leader with the credibility and vision to bring people together, lead change and deliver sustainable improvements.
To be considered, you must hold:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians—FRACP
- Specialist registration with AHPRA
- Senior clinical experience in General Medicine or a relevant physician subspecialty
- Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical governance, workforce management, service development or performance improvement
- Experience leading change and improving clinical systems
- A strong interest in physician education, supervision, training and accreditation
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
- A commitment to safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care
- The ability to inspire teams and build a positive, accountable departmental culture
