Description:
The Warehouse Associate plays a vital role in day-to-day warehouse and supply chain operations. This multifaceted position is responsible for unloading inbound shipments, verifying stock accuracy, sorting and putting away materials, and assisting technicians with tool and parts delivery. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with strong technical aptitude who takes pride in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inspections: Unload inbound freight carriers, verify contents against packing slips, inspect materials for quality or damage, and systematically check inventory into the tracking system.
Material Movement & Put-Away: Safely transport parts, components, and tools to designated warehouse storage areas or staging zones using manual/electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
Inventory Control & System Tracking: Utilize warehouse management software (SAP/Microsoft Office Suite) and handheld RF scanners to perform routine cycle counts, update stock levels, and investigate inventory discrepancies.
Order Fulfillment: Safely select, bundle, stage, and log heavy parts or toolkits required by supervisors and field technicians.
Logistics Support: Coordinate with outbound freight carriers and technicians; occasionally assist with organizing or delivering critical tools/parts directly to local job sites as needed.
Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to KONE’s absolute safety policies, 5S lean protocols, and OSHA guidelines to maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience: 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment preferred.
Forklift Operations: Prior experience operating standard warehouse forklifts is highly preferred; willingness to obtain/maintain company forklift certification.
Software Aptitude: Experience tracking data using ERP/WMS platforms (like SAP) and general proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Communication: Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset to interface effectively with supervisors, technicians, and freight drivers.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, and reach overhead for long durations (up to 10 hours).
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move heavy totes or materials weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
Flexibility to work in environments with variable noise levels and changing temperatures (both climate and non-climate controlled warehouse areas).
Must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and high-visibility gear.
