Up to £70,000 | £5,000 Car Allowance or Company Vehicle | Bonus
My client is a highly regarded national property consultancy with a longstanding reputation across the rural and agricultural property market.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced rural property professional to join its Estates & Farm Agency team at Associate Director or Senior Associate Director level.
This is a senior, commercially focused role for an individual with strong rural property experience and, ideally, an established track record in the sale of farms, estates, land and other significant rural assets.
The successful individual will manage transactions from initial advice through to completion, while developing client relationships, generating new instructions and strengthening their profile within the rural property market.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
- Advising landowners and private clients on the sale of farms, estates, agricultural land and rural property.
- Undertaking market appraisals and providing strategic pre-sale advice.
- Winning new instructions through relationships, referrals, networking and proactive business development.
- Preparing commercially focused recommendations and sale strategies.
- Managing instructions from initial appointment through to completion.
- Coordinating marketing collateral, property particulars, plans and photography.
- Managing enquiries, purchaser relationships, viewings and negotiations.
- Advising clients on offers, competitive bidding and transaction strategy.
- Liaising with solicitors and professional advisers throughout the sale process.
- Building relationships with farmers, landowners, investors, purchasers and rural professionals.
- Monitoring market evidence and rural property activity.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Rural, Valuation, Estate Management, Planning and wider property teams.
- Representing the business at agricultural shows, industry events and professional functions.
Business Development
This is not purely an instruction-handling role. My client is particularly interested in individuals who can contribute commercially and develop their own market presence.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to:
- Develop relationships with landowners, farmers, estate owners and professional advisers.
- Identify forthcoming sales and off-market opportunities.
- Generate repeat and referred business.
- Build a recognised profile within the regional rural property market.
- Attend relevant networking events and agricultural shows.
- Cross-refer opportunities across the wider business.
- Contribute to the growth and profitability of the Estates & Farm Agency division.
About You
The successful individual is likely to demonstrate:
- Strong experience within the UK rural property sector.
- Experience in farm agency, rural property transactions, valuation or a closely related discipline.
- A proven ability to manage significant transactions and senior client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of the agricultural and rural property market.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of fee generation.
- The confidence to originate opportunities and win instructions.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to operate autonomously at a senior level.
- An established network within the rural or agricultural community would be advantageous.
A relevant degree is expected, with MRICS and/or FAAV/CAAV qualification highly desirable. Strong candidates with significant rural transactional experience may also be considered where their market experience compensates for a different qualification route.
Package & Benefits
The successful candidate will receive:
- Basic salary up to £70,000, dependent on experience.
- £5,000 car allowance or company vehicle.
- Performance-related bonus.
- Pension and comprehensive corporate benefits.
- Excellent long-term progression opportunities.
- Access to an established national rural property network.
- Significant autonomy to develop client relationships and originate new instructions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Rural Surveyor, Farm Agent, Associate Director or Senior Associate Director seeking a senior agency role with genuine scope to build their market profile and progress within a leading national property consultancy.
All applications and initial conversations will be treated in the strictest confidence.
